Our cows are raised on organic pastures. They are supplemented with organic hay and minerals. No grain ever. No antibiotics ever. Not given growth hormones.
The quarters or halves are $4 per pound hanging weight plus butcher fees. On average our quarters hang at about 125 lbs and the butcher’s fees end up around $90. If it’s a smaller quarter and you choose to not keep the fat/bones/organ meats etcetera.. you generally end up with about 3 large paper grocery bags of meat. If it’s a larger quarter and you keep everything (no additional charge) it’s more like 5 large grocery bags.
